CMP Bala Vihar® Grade 8A
Class 7 : Summary
RAW review: Wastepaper Basketball: No participants :). But we discussed the importance of focus and concentration on goals and achieving success. Students shared their thoughts on how they use these qualities in their daily lives.
Story: We talked about class system in ancient India and how professions and careers were passed down from family to family. We talked about how knowledge of military arts, weapons and warfare were limited to the Kshatriyas and rulers of the land. In that background the stories of Ekalavya and Karna's quest for knowledge of archery were narrated.
Reflection: We analyzed the characters of Drona who was custodian of the military sciences and his actions which he justified to himself as being right. We talked about Ekalavya with immense guru bhakti and hard work, and Karna who was dissatisfied with his position as charioteer and pursued archery knowledge in an adharmic way by resorting to lying to Sage Parashuram. We also compared and contrasted Ekalavya and Karna and their attitude to perceived injustices, and the methods they employed to react or respond.
RAW: The questions posted for reflection this week are - which organ is the most important organ in our body? Is there an organ that is not really useful? Can you state how this is relevant to our class?
Gita Chapter 12: We learnt to chant shloka 3.
